"Work with your child at the Kinship Community Food Center (formerly called Riverwest Food Pantry) – an organization focused on coming together around food to relieve hunger, improve lives, and grow community well-being. While their name has changed, their mission is still the same! Your child will be immersed in an environment where they will experience their capabilities to help others and also be mentored in acts of dignity and grace by those very same people. The Kinship Community Food Center embodies their motto: In a community of generosity everyone gives and everyone receives.

You and your child will assist shoppers with registration and grocery selection, help shoppers carry bags, serve snacks to shoppers, help in the kid’s corner, and clean up. Hands-on orientation and assignments are given upon arrival.

We will also be collecting reusable bags to donate to the pantry. Their goal is to eliminate as many plastic shopping bags as possible. If you have extra reusable bags at home, please consider bringing some with you to donate!"
